The team, educated in law, science and medicine, together with outside expert resources, provides a diverse perspective, comprehensive knowledge about the evaluation, advancement, protection and commercialization of intellectual property.
Staff biographies:
Sharon Lewis, RN, JD, MS, LLM
Ms. Lewis is Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Catholic Healthcare West. She received her LLM degree (Master's of Law) in Biotechnology and Genomics from Arizona State University, M.A. in Nursing, J.D from the University of Iowa and B.A. from the University of Minnesota. She practiced as a Registered Nurse for 10 years prior to commencing the practice of law in the healthcare field over 20 years ago. She is admitted to the State Bar of Arizona, and has been identified as one of the 10 best Arizona healthcare lawyers in "Health Care Best of the Bar," by the Arizona Business Journal and is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA).

Manoja Ratnayake Lecamwasam, PhD, MBA
Manoja Ratnayake Lecamwasam is Director, Catholic Healthcare West's Intellectual Property Office. She holds a PhD degree in molecular microbiology from Tufts University School of Medicine, a MSc degree in molecular biology from Northeastern University, MA and a BA with honors in biology from Mills College in Oakland, CA. Prior to joining CHW, Dr. Lecamwasam served as a senior licensing associate/licensing associate in the Office of Corporate Sponsored Research and Licensing at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Lecamwasam also has extensive hands-on research and instructor experience in molecular biology, microbiology, bacterial genetics and biochemistry and is an active member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and the Licensing Executives Society (LES).
